gnovis Issues Call for Papers, Peer Reviewers
October 16, 2007
Call for Papers
With the semester well under way, gnovis would like to remind you of our fast-approaching submission deadline. To be considered for our Fall 2007 Issue, papers must be submitted by Thursday, November 1st. Submission guidelines are available online.
If you are concerned about meeting the deadline, please contact Managing Editor Brad Weikel at (bnw4 at georgetown.edu)
Peer Reviewers
gnovis is actively seeking Peer Reviewers. Peer Reviewers are the anonymous but crucial individuals who read early drafts of submissions and play a large role in determining which articles get published. Students from all subject areas and clusters in CCT are encouraged to apply, as familiarity with a variety of topics and issues is important. Students will preferably have completed at least one semester of coursework.
Interested students should contact Peer Review Manager Jessica Vitak at (jmv35 at georgetown.edu).
gnovis' Blog
Our blog, newly added for 2007/08, has seen tremendous activity and is quickly growing. Check out recent posts by CCT 1st year Mike Moore -- an insightful analysis of video game trailers-- as well as CCT 2nd year Jason Langsner's post on his participation in a recent symposium on Empowering the Future Leaders of the Americas. A special thanks to CCT 1st year Jed Brubaker for his multiple, thoughtful posts and comments.
David Bollier recently paid a visit to CCT, and gnovis had the privilege of holding a private audience with him. Please see gnovis staffer and CCT 1st year Ashley Bowen's report on the discussion with Bollier. Edward Castranova and Howard Rheingold will be visiting CCT soon; watch for gnovis interviews of these distinguished guests later in the semester.
Registering and posting to our blog is easy. Posts are screened by Nicole before going live. We hope to see more of you contributing to our growing forum.
Finally, please join gnovis in welcoming our new Blog Manager, CCT 2nd year Nicole Guerra. Under her guidance, gnovis' new blog is rolling right along, with dynamic and insightful discussions on a broad range of topics.
