Jessica Vitak
Jessica Vitak, a second year CCT student, graduated from Elon
University in 2002 with bachelor's degrees in Communications and
Journalism. For the last five years, she has been living in Washington,
D.C. and working as an editor for
PR Newswire, the global leader in news distribution and monitoring services. In fall 2007, she left that position to join the
Pew Internet & American Life Project as
a research intern, where she collaborates on projects related to the
impact of technology on society and blogs about current technology
news. Her research interests are as varied as CCT: she spent a month in
China during summer 2007 studying globalization and international media
usage, but also enjoys the areas of computer-mediated communication and
social media. Jessica will begin her Ph.D. studies this fall at
Michigan State's
Media & Information Studies
program, where she plans to continue her focus on the impact of the
Internet and new communication technologies on interaction patterns.
